FAQs

What do I need to know before my dog starts camp?

We require every perspective camper have an evaluation that is a discussion of current behavior and your goals. We evaluate your dog’s sociability with our staff and their comfort in our day camp facility. We must also verify that they meet the vaccine requirements and schedule a trial day on the day that you hope for them to attend. Email vaccines to us at unleashed@yourcourteouscanine.com so we can make sure they have everything. During your dogs evaluation we will determine if camp is a good fit for your dog. The $100 (plus 7% sales tax) evaluation fee includes formal recommendation for programing and your dog’s trial day.

What do I need to bring with me to my dog’s evaluation?

  • completed application

  • signed liability waiver

  • verification that your dog has required vaccines, fecal sample, and schedule a trial day on one of the days you hope to have your dog attend on

Do you have rules about dogs quarantining before their evaluation?

Yes! We ask that dogs have "quarantined" for 10 days, after attending another daycare, dog park or boarding facility. This is to ensure that they don’t have any viruses before returning to daycare here. If your dog attends another daycare they will not be able to attend Unleashed! Day Camp. To help us prevent the illness from entering the facility it is important that you share if your dog has attended a dog park (never recommended as no one checks vaccinations status), boarded, attended daycare at another facility, or has been to the groomers recently. Dogs must quarantine before returning for 10 days after boarding, or attendance at daycare at another facility or attending a dog park. You do not have to quarantine after grooming.

What are the health requirements for perspective campers (puppies under 12 weeks old)?

  • A negative fecal test as performed by your veterinarian (not the breeder/rescue’s veterinarian). Please bring a copy of the test result; a receipt confirming that the test was performed is not proof of freedom from parasites

Does every dog need to be vaccinated to come to camp?

For families that choose a minimal vaccination protocol for their canines, we require proof of a titer test showing a positive ELISA result of at least >=1:80 indicating probable protective immunity. If your dog isn’t vaccinated, or their vaccination has expired they will not be allowed to attend our Unleashed! Day Camp. Proof of vaccination is required.

How do you handle female dogs in season/heat?

Bitches can return to camp/class when they complete Estrus and have been completely groomed. Estrus is the stage where the female is receptive to the male and can last an average of 9 days based on behavioral signs. Your dog is fertile during this time.
