Courteous Canine is a upscale facility in South Kingstown RI. We offer Group Training Classes, Private in Home Training and our Unleashed! Day Camp. We work with dogs from 2 lbs to over 150 lbs. During our busy times we can have up to 20 dogs per day in the facility. Our staff ratio is 1 person for every 10 dogs. The dog environment is active, fast paced, and at time can be loud. Our facility has many conveniences that make the work environment for the employees. The dogs in our Unleashed! Day Camp have social time up to 8 hours per day.

We will be training all employees how to properly manage dog playgroups. There will be a formal training program prior to working with any dogs. We do not have any breed restrictions, but do have attitude restrictions. Every dog will be assessed prior to being able to play or socialize with other dogs. Also, there is a LOT of cleaning at Courteous Canine / Unleashed! Day Camp. All employees are trained on how to properly clean.

Our Group Training classes offer a integrated curriculum for people with pet dogs to progress through puppy hood into a well mannered family companion. We provide out employees with training curriculums and training in positive reinforcement training. We require that applicants applying for trainer positions have either preliminary experience in a formal training program, or serious hobby training.

To be considered for employment, you must:

1. Have reliable transportation

2. Communicate well. Need cell phone with voicemail and email and text messaging, that you check on a daily basis. You must communicate professionally on the phone, in person, and in writing.

3. Be able to life materials or dogs of 50lbs.

4. Be in good health as you may be working with large, strong pets and need to be able to handle them.

5. Make a commitment to work as part of the team. Training takes several months, so if you just want a job to last a few months, please don’t apply. We want people who are excited about the opportunity and want to stick around!

6. Be reliable, honest and trustworthy.

Further qualifications:

1. You must LOVE dogs!

2. You must be reliable and responsible, placing the care of these pets equal to that of your own family.

3. You must be gentle, calm, loving, yet playful and fun around pets.

4. You must be honest, kind and courteous.

5. You must be willing to work because of your love of dogs, not just money.

6. You must have good communication skills to speak with the team.

7. You must be able to pay attention to detail of dog’s care, personality, and care.

8. You must light, often smile a lot and love life!

9. You must be at least 18 years old and have a mature attitude.

10. You must show up when you are scheduled to work.

11. You must accurately document feeding, watering, and medications.

12. You must not be distracted when supervising the pets. Hold phone calls and visits during work hours.

13. Communicate with manager or owner if anything about a pet does not seem well.

14. You will authorize the company to examine your references, record employment, education and any other information I provide
